The Church of the Epiphany will host the CT Brass on Sunday, October 25 at 3pm in a free concert, open to the public.
Connecticut Brass formed in October of 2024 with members of the former Danbury Brass Band. The band primarily plays original compositions and arrangements written specifically for the band by its own members and Alan Raph.
Connecticut Brass is a 12 piece chamber ensemble (no conductor). Its standard instrumentation is: 1 Piccolo Trumpet, 3 Bb Trumpets, 1 Flugelhorn, 1 French Horn (aka Horn), 1 Tenor Trombone, 1 Bass Trombone, 2 Euphoniums, 2 Tubas. Their goal is to entertain and to educate. They want all audience members to come away having learned something new while having an enjoyable musical experience.
The program will include arrangements of pieces by famous composers, including Bach, Berlioz, Mahler, Holst, Moussourgsky, Rodrigo and Elgar as well as arrangements of popular tunes and marches. The program will be 90 minutes in length with a 15 minute intermission. Audience members are welcome to speak with the band members and ask questions during the intermission.
